Over the centuries, Hampton Court Palace has deservedly earned the reputation of entertaining and impressing. The palace has been the setting for many spectacular events and prolific entertainments and today offers stunning state rooms as settings for receptions, banquets and other esteemed functions. The sheer grandeur of Henry VIII’s Great Hall inspires entertaining on a luxurious scale. Formally a dining room seating 600 people, it regularly seated members of the King’s court twice a day. Within the Great Hall lay treasures which include spectacular 16th Century Flemish tapestries commissioned by Henry VIII, depicting biblical scenes from the story of Abraham. The paintings hang beneath a stunning hammer-beam roof richly decorated with carvings, tracery and moldings. There are many other areas available for smaller, intimate dinners and receptions
