Description:
One of the oldest Livery Companies in the City of London is the Worshipful Company of Pewterers’. Originated when the “goodfolk makers of vessels of pewter” went before the Mayor and Aldermen asking for the approval of articles they had drawn up for the regulation of the trade. The connection to pewter may have been primary as it is probable the society was semi-religious meaning the pewter was subsequent to its foundation. The Worshipful Company of Pewterers’s own records can be dated back to 1451 whereas the earliest known reference to the corporation dates back to 1348. The company itself is situated in the heart of the City and provides a superb backdrop for meetings, presentations and conferences. The venue has a flexible suite of rooms located on the ground floor and first. The Livery room, on the ground floor can hold the same number as the Court Room, 100 for dinners and 150 for receptions. The Court Room is located on the first floor and features chandeliers recovered from the previous Hall in Lime Street. The venue exemplifies elegance and is the perfect setting for presentations and receptions.
